Bareilly: The Faculty of Education at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, celebrated Teachers’ Day with a colourful cultural programme organised by students of the B.Ed. and M.Ed. programmes.
The programme was presided over by Faculty of Education Dean Professor Dr Santosh Arora. Faculty members including Professor Anju Agrawal, Professor S.K. Verma, Dr Tarun Rashtriya, Dr Prempal Singh, Dr Pratibha Sagar, Dr Meenakshi Dwivedi, Dr Suresh Kumar, Dr Rambabu Singh and Dr Rashmi Ranjan were present on the occasion.
The celebrations began with students welcoming the faculty members by applying tilak and presenting them with floral garlands. The formal inauguration followed with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tribute before the portraits of former President of India and eminent educationist Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Goddess Saraswati.
Aishanshi delivered the welcome address and greeted the teachers and guests. Savita subsequently presented a solo song, adding a musical dimension to the celebrations.
To make the occasion engaging and memorable, students organised a series of fun games and activities exclusively for the faculty members. The teachers participated enthusiastically, while students cheered them on and enjoyed the activities. The combination of games and cultural performances created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and celebration throughout the event.
The programme was hosted by Pranav Pathak and Mansi Singh, whose engaging stage management added to the appeal of the ceremony. The overall arrangements were coordinated by Dhruv Malhotra, Pallavi Singh and other students.
Addressing the students, Professor Dr Santosh Arora extended her Teachers’ Day greetings and said that a teacher is not merely someone who imparts knowledge but also a mentor who helps shape students’ personalities and guides them towards the right path in life.
Students including Akash, Sabia, Anuradha, Kapil Mohan, Satyendra, Jagdish, Shivi Agrawal, Sana Abrar, Meenu Singh and Satyaprakash also participated in the celebrations.
B.Ed. and M.Ed. students collectively played an important role in making the event successful. Dhruv Malhotra, Pallavi Singh, Puneet Kumar, Neha Chaudhary, Pooja Saxena, Anjali Rathore, Ruchi, Tripti, Pranav, Karan, Aarushi Singh, Vibhakti, Shraddha Chauhan, Sumit Kumar, Mayank Singh and Sohan Singh, among others, actively contributed to the planning and arrangements.
The cultural segment featured performances by Neha Sagar, Upadhi Gupta, Sudhir Babu, Dilip Kashyap, Mansi Singh, Deepak Yadav, Lalit and other students. Through dance, music and other artistic presentations, the students expressed their respect, affection and gratitude towards their teachers. The performances were appreciated by both faculty members and students.
The celebrations concluded with students expressing their gratitude and respect for their teachers. The programme reflected a harmonious blend of the guru-shishya tradition, respect, culture, creativity and youthful enthusiasm, while providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talents and strengthen their collective participation.
